About
Welcome to Uncle Don's, nestled in the vibrant Fortune Avenue of Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. Located at C-G, 20, Jalan Metro Perdana 3, Taman Usahawan, Uncle Don's boasts a menu that caters to a wide range of palates, from pizza lovers to fans of hearty Asian fare.
One of the standout offerings here is their Pepperoni Pizza, featuring a rich tomato-based sauce and chicken pepperoni for only MYR 28.70. For those seeking something more adventurous, the Chef's Pizza (MYR 24.10) crafted on a thin crust with a creamy sauce and customizable toppings, certainly makes for a satisfying meal. Another must-try is the Seafood Sisig, a sizzling medley of shrimp, squid, and fish, a dish that speaks to the heart of local culinary traditions at just MYR 25.00.
While the food has received mixed reviews regarding portion sizes and overall cleanliness, the ever-praised homemade tomato sauce serves as a winning touch, particularly when paired with their crispy fries. Customers have noted the cozy atmosphere, albeit somewhat cramped, making it a great spot for casual gatherings with friends. The ice-cold frozen mug beer complements the experience magnificently, especially when paired with their rich pork dishes, a definite highlight for non-halal diners.
However, not all feedback has been glowing. Patrons have expressed concerns about cleanliness and inconsistencies in food quality. Some have found their dishes lacking, with a few highlighting issues like soggy french fries due to juicy burgers, or underwhelming portion sizes. Nevertheless, the prices are considered reasonable, striking a balance for those who seek delicious meals without breaking the bank.
In conclusion, Uncle Don's in Kepong offers a blend of classic and modern dishes, thriving on its unique menu and friendly environment. While it may have room for improvement in some areas, it remains a favored locale for those who enjoy hearty meals in an approachable setting. If you’re in the area, it’s certainly worth a visit, especially for a cozy night of great food and cool drinks.
“ The place looks quite run down despite looking new on the outside. The chairs are peeling off. The furniture looks old. Food is okay. Portion small. What's great is their homemade tomato sauce! Good to add in to your fries ”
“ Non halal. Best pork dishes. The ice cold frozen mug beer is awesome. The chill feeling when you take a sip. Nice place to lepak. Cozy environment. Friendly staff. ”
“ We ordered a few dishes such as pizza, chicken chop, and another I can’t remember what’s the name but basically is a umami packed soup with bread. All of those taste great! After finishing the meal, we decided to order another of my favourite dessert to share and all of us were quite satisfied with the food but waiting time is a bit long tho. Price was average, not high not either low. Environment was good but a bit tight the space between tables and chair. Music was played at the right volume so it wasn’t too loud. ”
“ Honestly, quite disappointed with the food. Getting worse and worse, and cleanliness has taken a back seat. The tables are greasy, benches look dirty. I have tried most things on the menu, this time I got the lamb burger while my wife got the carbonara. Burger was underwhelming, so much juice came out from the lamb, not sure why, but it completely drenched my fries making it soggy. Carbonara was just ok. The only saving grace this place has is the relatively cheap price, but it's definitely not the cheapest. Lack of parking here is also a huge problem. Just my 2 cents. ”
